These are the things we will be working on this week:
Reading
This week we will be reading the story, Frog and Toad Together. High-frequency words: few, window, shall, night, noise, world, loudly, and story. These words are located on pp. 10-11 in the reading book. Your child needs to be able to recognize and read these words. Please practice these words each night when you read the story. Phonics skill: r-controlled vowel ar words. Reading test will be Friday, May 20, 2016.
Spelling
The words for this week are:
1.far 2.arm 3.yard 4.art 5.jar 6.bar 7.barn 8.bark 9.card 10.yarn 11.few 12.night
The spelling test will be Friday, May 20, 2016.
Grammar
We will be working on subject pronouns.
Handwriting
We will be reviewing the letters r, R, n, N, m, M, h, and H.
Math
We will continue Unit 7: Geometry and Attributes. This week we will reinforce sorting attribute blocks according to attribute rules, guide the identification of plane shapes, and extend children’s familiarity with polygons.
Social Studies
We will continue Unit 4: Our Changing World
